The Red Sea and Dead Sea are some of the most spectacular natural sites in the world and can be explored from Amman or Aqaba by seaplane or boat. The Dead Sea is one of the lowest places on earth and is known for its therapeutic properties. It's also home to the lowest point on land.
Activities
Day 1
Arrive at the airport where our representative will meet you. They will help you with formalities and then transfer you to your hotel.
Spend the rest of the day leisurely, resting and exploring the city later.
Day 2
After breakfast, we'll tour the ancient of Amman. This city boasts a wealth of archaeological sites and museums, including the Archeological Museum, the Folklore Museum, The Citadel, the Blue Mosque, and the Amphitheatre.
We will then proceed to Jerash. Jerash was one of the most cosmopolitan cities in ancient times and this is witnessed by the perfectly preserved Roman and Byzantine ruins- Some of the largest and well preserved in the world! We'll spend time with a local English-speaking guide walking along paved streets and colonnaded avenues as we take in some of Jerash's most impressive sights. We'll walk through its temples and theatres as well as its spacious public squares, plazas, baths, and fountains.
Afterward, we'll return to Amman for dinner at your hotel for an overnight stay there.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will drive through the King's Highway to visit important sites along this historical route. The tour will be like stepping into the ancient world. The King's Highway is famous for being the main trade route between Syria and the Arabian world. This is the road that the King of Edom stopped Moses from using to lead his people to the promised land.
We will visit Madaba, the ancient city believed to be more than 4,500 years old. It is well known for the Byzantine mosaics that decorate the city. Here we also find a 6th Century Map of the Holy land and Jerusalem.
We will then proceed to Mt. Nebo. This is the famous place where Moses was shown the Promised Land, which he would never enter. We will tour around and learn much more about the history, culture, and religion.
We will then proceed on the Kings highway through the Canyon Wadi Mujib, Crusader castles that we strategically built to look out for invaders and so much more as we drive to Petra.
Arrive at Petra and check-in. Overnight in Petra.
Day 4
Today we will spend the whole day touring this wonderful "Lost City", Petra.
After breakfast, we will explore what Petra has to offer. This ancient city was built by the Nabateans and it was a bustling capital during the Roman and Hellenistic times. The city is half carved out of rock and half-built, it was inhabited between 400 B.C and 106 A.D. It was a crossroad between Arabia, Egypt, and Syria-Phonecia.
The city is the largest and richest archeological site in the world, leading to UNESCO declaring it a heritage site in 2007 and including it among the 7 wonders of the world.
Explore the ancient city and get lost in this world. Petra was one of the locations where the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was shot. Take amazing pictures and you embrace your inner adventurer!
Overnight in Petra
Day 5
Today we will head to explore the desert of Wadi Rum. Also known as the "Valley of the Moon", Wadi rum comprises the most ourstanding desert landscapes ever seen!
With the red desert dunes, narrow gorges large natural arches, towering cliffs, ramps and caverns, the landscape is likened to Mars on Earth. The landscape stretches as far as the eye can see with the natural desert. It's a sight of wonder. Pictures here can be both romantic and adventurous as we explore this land.
We will then proceed to the Dead sea to relax by the beach. The Dead sea in known to be the lowest elevation on earth. With several mentions in the Bible, it is surely well worth it, floating in this well-known sea. It has a high concentration of salt so its practically hard to sink here. Check into the hotel by the beach and enjoy the rest of the data at leisure.
Day 6
Today you will have a leisurely breakfast as you enjoy more of the amenities of the hotel and the Dead Sea Beach.
You will then be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
